MLK 2020-make it a day on — Saga Education

The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Jan. 20, 2020 is almost here, and marks the 25th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. The Corporation for National and Community service has been charged to lead this effort for the last quarter century.

Saga Education is proud to be part of this tradition, and teams in Chicago, New York and DC will participate in a range of wonderful service projects throughout the day.

Making time to volunteer is a great way to engage with your community while honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Whether you plan on grabbing a paintbrush, mentoring a young person, or helping to clean up a public space in the next few days, know that what you do makes a world of difference.

There are many wonderful opportunities to consider- some take as little as an hour or two- so pause that next episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and get out there!
